About the Team

The Mechanical Sourcing team is searching for an exceptional individual with a blend of thermal and mechanical knowledge. In this global role, you’ll engage with stakeholders and suppliers worldwide, influencing sourcing strategy on an international scale. Your work will directly impact how people work, live, play, and learn as part of the Internet of Everything. The team thrives on collaboration and supports growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive supplier engagement, negotiation, and selection to secure high-quality thermal and mechanical components that meet Cisco’s standards for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Partner with suppliers, engineers, product managers, and quality teams to innovate thermal and mechanical solutions, aligning sourcing strategies with product timelines and budgetary goals.
  • Collaborate with a close-knit, high-energy team of experts, contributing to a supportive environment that values diverse talents and mutual growth.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in the thermal industry with mechanical industry knowledge, including understanding relevant manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience in a technical or commercial field.
  • Executive-level influence: experience working effectively with senior stakeholders and leadership to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • High proficiency in negotiation to ensure competitive advantage and customer satisfaction.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $159,800.00 to $202,300.00 for new hires in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and training. Below are the full salary ranges for specific locations:

  • New York City Metro Area: $159,800.00 - $232,600.00
  • Non-Metro New York State & Washington State: $141,700.00 - $206,400.00

For quota-based sales roles, the ranges include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.

    • Non-exempt employees: 16 days of paid vacation per full calendar year, accrued at 4.92 hours per pay period.
    • Exempt employees: Flexible vacation time off with no defined limit (subject to business limitations).
    • 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, with up to 80 hours carried forward annually.
    • Additional paid time away for critical or emergency family issues.
    • Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year for volunteering.
  • Eligibility for annual bonuses (for non-sales roles) and performance-based incentive pay (for sales roles), subject to Cisco’s policies.
  • Eligibility for grants of Cisco restricted stock units, vesting over time with continued employment.
