About the role
Responsible for driving procurement sourcing strategies, managing the bid process, and negotiating the purchase of materials, equipment, and services for medium-dollar/complexity requirements. This position serves as a representative for the group and ensures compliance with established procurement policies, processes, and controls.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently conduct Request for Proposals (RFPs), negotiate, and execute contracts independently, and support internal business partners on assigned procurement activities.
- Lead the sourcing, negotiation, and contracting process for medium-value contracts/commodities.
- Apply a working understanding of contracting practices and General Terms and Conditions (GTC).
- Gather and interpret market data to analyze spend and facilitate data analytics supporting the spend portfolio.
- Strategically plan and implement a defined sourcing and contracting structure.
- Demonstrate experience with cost savings, sustainability, and various spend concepts and priorities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in managing moderately complex situations and/or larger sets of data.
- Develop sources of supply, establish procurement schedules, and assist in supplier pre-qualification activities.
- Produce and analyze Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) scorecards.
- Establish and monitor contract and supplier performance, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for medium-complexity categories; review with business groups and use data to improve future performance and strategy development.
- Update, process, and approve procurement records in a timely manner as directed.
- Coordinate with end users and suppliers to provide visibility and communicate updates.
- Support coworkers and provide timely responses and guidance related to the processing of their contracts/commodities.
- Ensure tactical support tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Identify and outline medium-complexity issues; engage small teams to present simple proposals and gain buy-in.
- Utilize tools and resources available, demonstrating a moderate understanding of systems and processes, and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products to facilitate sourcing and contracting processes.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of procurement/sourcing, supply market trends, and supplier economics.
- Full understanding of purchasing and inventory systems.
- Basic understanding of contract language, terms, and conditions, as well as experience drafting contract agreements.
- Ability to analyze contracts, terms, and conditions, and understand ramifications of contractual verbiage as it relates to products, services, and suppliers.
- Solid understanding of business and financial principles.
- Skills to interpret and analyze data, present outcomes, and identify sourcing opportunities.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and influencing skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Project management skills, including prioritization against time-sensitive deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience.
- Minimum of three to five years of related experience.
- Demonstrated experience with strategic sourcing responsibilities for various commodities, both products and services, in operational procurement and sourcing.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Six Sigma, Lean, Process, or Project Management certifications are desirable.
Schedule
This role supports work-life balance through hybrid schedules. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. Employees must be available to work up to five days in the office if needed (e.g., emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
Working Conditions
- Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary; up to 25% travel.
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment requiring standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, writing, typing, and communicating.

Pay
Annual salary range for this position is $94,390.00–$104,880.00. This position is eligible for a potential incentive.
