Sorter Packer

About the role

The Sorter Packer inspects and grades produce to determine whether it meets acceptable standards of quality, size, and/or color based on customer orders.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and grade produce to determine whether it meets an acceptable standard of quality, size, and/or color
• Repack produce
• Unload boxes from pallet
• Separate product based on color and size
• Remove defective product so that it may be properly disposed of
• Label products by customer order
• Stack product onto the finished pallet as directed
• Clean work area and keep it free of water and debris
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• Produce experience preferred; 1 year of experience working in a warehouse preferred
• Ability to distinguish colors

Working conditions

• Regularly required to stand and talk or hear
• Frequently exposed to wet, loud, cold, and/or humid conditions
• Frequently required to walk and use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Schedule

7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (10-hour days), 4 days per week. Candidates will be advised of workdays and days off at hire.
