Sort Systems Technician/Sr Technician

Job Summary

Maintains and repairs all package sorting and container handling equipment; maintains all electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems in accordance with established FedEx maintenance procedures.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED

Minimum Experience:

• Sr Tech/Sort Sys: Four (4) years experience, of which 24 months being as a FedEx sort systems technician, or 24 months of maintenance on similar equipment/systems, as a commercial/industrial maintenance technician with background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic & materials handling systems maintenance.
• Tech (Sort Sys): Completion of the FedEx Maintenance Trainee Program or Two (2) years’ technical experience required; Industrial Maintenance Technician (preferred experience), or other maintenance/military/mechanic/related trade experience (considered) with a background in Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electronic and Materials Handling Systems Maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

• Must possess good working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment & procedures.
• Good interpersonal and oral communications skills.
• Ability to access equipment by crawling, laying, standing and/or climbing at all heights both above and below ground level.
• Ability to lift 50 Lbs. and maneuver heavy sort-related components, parts and equipment with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.

Job Conditions

• Must be willing to work odd work weeks, overtime, holidays & rotating shifts.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Non-Covered Safety Sensitive Position; Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Domicile Information

This is a full-time, onsite position located in Indianapolis, IN.

Shift Information

3rd shift (8:00 PM - 6:30 AM), Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday

Pay

Technician Compensation: $28.62 hourly - Sr Technician: $33.00 hourly
