Career Opportunity This is a position within a recycling facility that is responsible for overseeing the sort line, designating co-workers to specified areas and promoting a safe environment. This position requires constant communication with co-workers and supervisors to ensure the tasks at hand are carried out accordingly. How You Will Impact WestRock Lead co-workers to include schedules, training, productivity, and discipline when necessaryOversee the daily production schedule, including overseeing floor activity.Help facilitate morning meetings in conjunction with fellow co-workers which should include a daily safety topic(s), inbound/outbound loads, production schedule, etc.Be knowledgeable of machineryHelp sorters regarding efficiency and help them achieve the optimum throughput for the equipmentResponsible for ensuring quality systems are in place and comply with customer specificationsOversee feeding of material on a timely basis per scheduleCreate and maintain a strong safety cultureFill-in on equipment when co-workers are absentOversee the organization of the workspace and tools to increase efficiency. What You Need To Succeed Must have high school diploma or General Education degree (G.E.D.).Must have ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos.Preferred experience in overseeing / managing a group of co-workersMust have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules / training.Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, fractions, etc.)Must have the ability to multi-task with various interruptions.Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outloook, etc.)Must be able to maintain good attendance.OSHA training is a plusRecycling experience is a plusWilling to work the hours needed to complete the daily tasksExcellent communication skillsMust be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
