Sonographer - PRN, Radiology, Certified

About the role

We are seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer responsible for providing high-quality ultrasound imaging and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures using independent judgment to differentiate normal and abnormal findings.
• Communicate sonographic findings to physicians and ensure imaging quality meets standards.
• Explain procedures to patients, ensure comfort, and coordinate patient transport when needed.
• Prepare and maintain a clean, organized work environment, manage supplies, and disinfect equipment.
• Operate PACS system, verify studies, and ensure proper documentation and billing.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams, maintain ethical communication, and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Mentor new staff and students, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform quality checks.
• Respond to emergencies and report unsafe conditions.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited radiology or sonography program.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential through ARDMS.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Proficiency in computer and office equipment, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiology.
• PACS experience.

This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor, with variable shifts and located at a healthcare facility.
