Solutions Engineer
About the role
The Solutions Engineer at Motorola Solutions operates as a business-technical advisor, helping customers navigate intricate software choices by matching platform functionality with strategic goals and operational needs. This role facilitates critical technical discussions to define challenges the software addresses, assesses the feasibility and fit of proposed solutions, advises on optimal architectural paths and usage strategies, and ensures all software design choices are firmly rooted in platform capabilities and practical operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Translate customer obstacles into technical requirements
- Assess the feasibility and fit of proposed solutions
- Advise customers on optimal architectural paths and usage strategies
- Maintain technical alignment and clarity
- Serve as a reliable partner for both technical and business stakeholders
- Collaborate with Account Executives, Account Managers, and internal departments
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct customer engagement as a technical representative for the Sales team
- 5+ years Technical Sales process knowledge
- Ability to follow end to end customer engagement from introduction to delivery
- Deep experience with SaaS and HaaS
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi and IP networking principles
- Working knowledge of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and common integration approaches
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity and data privacy best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of sales, presales, solutions consulting experience
- 6+ years of sales, presales, solutions consulting experience
Skills
- Technical Sales process knowledge
- Customer engagement from introduction to delivery
- Sales experience
- Knowledge of SaaS and HaaS
- Wi-Fi and IP networking principles
- APIs and integration approaches

Pay
Target Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 USD
Schedule
Ideal candidates will reside in Texas and travel will be up to 25% of the time. This travel (car and air) will be within the territory with occasional travel outside the territory.
