Solutions Director, Power & Energy
About the role
As a Power & Energy Solutions Director, you will play a unique role in building solutions, strategy, and go-to-market approaches across Honeywell’s businesses in support of the Power and Energy Management segment. This role is intended for candidates who bring a strong technical background in power automation, energy controls, and industrial energy management, along with the organizational maturity to align multiple stakeholders, navigate a matrix environment, and develop and promote new offerings across business groups.
You will report directly to our Vertical Leader, Energy Control and Management and work out of our Houston, TX location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will have broad accountability to take existing and emerging products from several segments of the Power and Energy business and synthesize them into campaigns focused on high-value strategic targets.
Responsibilities
- Monitor market trends, Customer Voice of Customer (VoC), internal insights, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and priorities for the larger portfolio mix, with a strong understanding of power automation, controls, energy management, and related industrial technologies.
- Identify and learn emerging customer needs, define priority segments and buyer personas, and translate those insights into solution requirements.
- Synthesize value proposals based on market willingness for an overall solution, not individual product or SKU guidance.
- Turn customer needs and technical power automation requirements into actionable priorities for technology, product, and sales teams across businesses.
- Manage pricing, positioning, and go-to-market collateral.
- Develop business models and pricing approaches that simplify the customer experience while maximizing value for Honeywell.
- Maintain a new product/go-to-market roadmap, collaborate with cross-business teams to influence product roadmaps, and coordinate new offering launches across Strategic Business Groups (SBGs).
- Drive incremental profitability and top-line growth by converting cross-business capabilities into scalable, market-ready offerings.
- Develop and maintain relationships to create support and awareness of your priorities with key stakeholders such as Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and SBG executive leadership, vertical leaders, business offering management, R&D, regional business leaders, sales teams, and other cross-functional partners.
- Demonstrate organizational maturity to build alignment, resolve ambiguity, and advance offerings in a matrixed environment.
Job Breakdown:
- 40% - Build strategy and go-to-market for new portfolio offerings.
- 30% - Determine the offerings roadmap, coordinating with various Honeywell businesses.
- 30% - Grow the sales pipeline, supporting sales teams to close opportunities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical experience in power generation automation, controls, energy management, and related industrial sectors.
- 5+ years in solution development, offering management, or related roles that require translating technical capabilities into customer-facing offerings.
- Experience leading complex initiatives in a matrix organization, including influencing teams and stakeholders without direct authority.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and launching offerings.
- Strong leadership, organizational maturity, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work across product, technology, sales, regional, and executive teams to develop, launch, and promote new offerings.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical and commercial concepts clearly to executive, sales, product, and engineering audiences.
Skills
