About the role

The Solutions Development Engineer is a key technical contributor tasked with transforming the way we deliver Managed Services by creating and implementing cutting-edge cloud solutions. This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of cloud technologies, including Azure, AWS, and M365, and a strong commitment to solving technical challenges while ensuring service excellence. You will play a central role in crafting and deploying cloud solutions that address the evolving requirements of our managed clients, collaborating closely with the Solutions Development Architect to ensure our Managed Cloud Services lead in performance, scalability, security, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Cloud Service Architect to develop and implement cutting-edge Managed Cloud Services that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to craft and deploy cloud solutions on platforms like Azure, AWS, and M365, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and compliance.
  • Develop and deploy cloud services using best practices and coding standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical challenges and troubleshoot issues as they arise during development and deployment, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and availability of cloud services.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud services into existing systems.
  • Document code, processes, and configurations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of combined IT Infrastructure, cloud (Azure/AWS), and workplace (Microsoft 365) experience.
  • Proven experience in cloud service development and deployment.
  • Proficiency with either Python or PowerShell (extra points for both).
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud services: Application integration, functions, Cloud Databases, data warehouse and analytics, Machine Learning, Developer Tools, Security, and identity management.
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform / Azure RM/Bicep, CloudFormation).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and address customer needs.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-interest in maintaining updated knowledge with technology (industry) best practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Positive attitude with creative thinking.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Engineer, Azure Administrator).
  • Experience with project management methodologies is a plus.
  • Managed Service operations/ITIL experience (nice to have).

Pay

Base pay range for this position:

  • Texas and Chicago: $101,600 to $127,000 annually
  • Denver: $96,520 to $120,650 annually

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, education, and related certification. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
