About the role

Gordian is the world’s leading provider of facility and construction cost data, software, and services for all phases of the building lifecycle. A pioneer of Job Order Contracting (JOC), Gordian’s offerings include proprietary RSMeans cost data and Capital Planning software solutions, hosted with the Gordian Cloud Platform (GCP). From planning to design, procurement, construction, and operations, Gordian’s solutions help clients maximize efficiency, optimize cost savings, and increase building quality.

The Senior Solutions Consultant will translate complex customer business requirements into viable business solutions, deconstructing customer challenges into discrete, logical components. This role is part of the Planning department’s Professional Services team, focusing on assisting customers in leveraging Gordian’s Capital Planning software solutions and their data to enhance capital planning processes. The position is remote within the U.S. and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Professional Services.

Gordian’s Capital Planning software helps facilities professionals objectively model multi-year capital plans that optimize and align investments with their mission. By centralizing asset and facility information, this cloud-based software provides forecasting tools to efficiently gather and maintain facility condition data on buildings and other real property assets, leveraging that data to optimize budget decisions about maintenance and capital planning.

Responsibilities

  • Build long-term customer relationships and serve as a single point of contact for customers by managing the overall client engagement, including business process analysis, software installation, configuration, training, and client management.
  • Lead discovery, co-creation workshops, and stakeholder interviews to clearly understand and document capital planning process requirements and critical success factors.
  • Generate and manage project plans, milestones, communication (internal and external stakeholders), and risk mitigation for implementations.
  • Develop project plans specifying goals, regular reporting, meeting ownership, task follow-up, risk identification, contingency planning, and resource management to support complex projects.
  • Assist clients in modifying their current processes to maximize ROI for Gordian’s products.
  • Lead core and transactional data migration projects, including mapping, import, and error/warning analysis.
  • Develop documentation for agendas, project progress, action items, process flow, and reports.
  • Provide training to educate customers on the operation and use of their solution and capital planning processes.
  • Establish a foundation for customer success post-engagement.
  • Assist with presale activities, including meetings and conference calls to determine needs analysis and project scope/pricing.
  • Identify potential change request opportunities and sell additional resources/services to clients to increase revenues over planned targets.
  • Commit to being a product expert and using best practices to achieve customer goals.
  • Ensure project adherence to Gordian’s project methodology (standard work).
  • Leverage and implement Fortive Business System (FBS) tools to proactively identify and solve problems.
  • Ensure appropriate billability of project hours and allocate time and expenses to projects as necessary.
  • Ensure timely tracking and submission of forecasts for revenue and resources.
  • Deliver at least 70-80% billable hours.
  • Travel 25% - 40% of the time for in-person customer visits (must live within 45 minutes of a major international airport).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Architecture or Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience with facilities and data analytics.
  • At least 3 years’ experience translating customer business requirements into business solutions and presenting those solutions to stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, gathering requirements, understanding client processes, and integrating software and workflow.
  • Experience with all phases of a client software implementation lifecycle, including needs analysis, project administration, software configuration, onsite training, troubleshooting, and ongoing account management.
  • Experience implementing software and supporting clients, managing multiple clients simultaneously, breaking projects into tasks, estimating effort, and delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • A thorough understanding of data manipulation and analysis for data migrations and building reports/visuals.
  • Proven ability to successfully balance multiple projects, manage your own calendar, and recognize when workload impacts quality.
  • Experience managing timelines, developing and executing project plans, and delivering to billable utilization targets.
  • Self-motivated learning style with a drive for consistent improvement and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including instructing or speaking to an audience.
  • Delivery-focused with a clear understanding of commitments and a proven track record of meeting them.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, focusing on solutions rather than simply agreeing to client requests when a better solution may exist.

Additional Desired Experience

  • Experience in Architecture, Engineering (building disciplines), or Facilities Management fields.
  • Experience in data manipulation, ideally using SQL, SSIS, or similar manipulation and workflow packages.
  • Experience hosting technical or software training in traditional classroom or online learning environments.
