About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to join our World Wide Public Sector Nonprofits practice. You will serve as the technical lead for nonprofit research organizations, helping them design and implement cloud architectures that advance science at scale. This role sits within a sales and business development team, where your technical expertise will directly inform planning and strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical engagement and success of customer implementation projects
- Design cloud architectures leveraging AWS services
- Provide thought leadership on security best practices for applications, servers, and networks
- Respond to RFPs and define implementation approaches
- Lead whiteboard sessions, technical deep-dives, and presentations for audiences of all sizes
- Capture and share best practices across the SA community
- Mentor peers and customers while staying current on AWS innovations and industry trends
- Travel up to 30%
Requirements
- 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

- Technical leadership — comfort guiding architectural design decisions and deep-diving into implementation details

- Communication skills — experience presenting to small and large groups, from whiteboard sessions to executive briefings
- Operational awareness — understanding of web site/services operations, management, and security
