Solutions Architect, WWPS EdTech

About the role

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing EdTech business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.

Your broad responsibilities will include owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing deep expertise in AWS technologies, and being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services. You will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers while working with a world-class sales and business development team.

In this role, you will be part of the EdTech SA team, helping commercial companies and partners serve the needs of public sector entities. Responsibilities

• Own the technical engagement and success of specific implementation projects
• Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs
• Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad know-how around application construction using the AWS platform
• Serve as a subject matter expert on security for customer applications and services
• Provide technical design and thought leadership to customers
• Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community
• Collaborate with and learn from some of the brightest technical minds in enterprise architecture
• Engage in deep-dive technical discussions around design and maintain intellectual curiosity to keep technical skills current

Requirements

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures
• 4+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
• 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries
• Technical presentation experience (whiteboard, small and large group presentations)
• Web services development/deployment experience and cloud computing knowledge
• Experience with web site/services operations, management, and security
• Ability to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
• Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Pay

• USA, CA, San Francisco: $151,000.00 - $204,300.00 USD annually
• USA, CA, Santa Monica: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
• USA, TX, Austin: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
• USA, TX, Dallas: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
• USA, WA, Seattle: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
