About the role
The VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Infrastructure Architect leads customer consulting projects focused on VCF private cloud solutions, serving as a subject matter expert to guide successful outcomes. This role involves collaborating with clients to identify VCF opportunities, planning, deploying, managing, and operating VMware Cloud Foundation, and designing infrastructure for management components and workload domains.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deploy, manage, and operate VMware Cloud Foundation, including vSphere, vSAN, VLAN-backed networks, and OVA appliances such as SDDC Manager, vCenters, NSX Managers, Edge Clusters, Aria Automation, Aria Operations, and Aria Operations for Logs.
- Design and size infrastructure for management components and workload domains in preparation for VCF planning, designing, and deployment of physical networks.
- Assess existing IT environments to provide strategies for VCF consumption.
- Design, deploy, and implement VMware vSAN clusters in a vSphere environment.
- Install and configure Aria Operations (dashboards and alerts) and Log Insight.
- Deploy Aria Automation, configure service catalogs, and integrate Aria Automation Orchestrator.
- Design, install, and configure disaster recovery solutions using Site Recovery Manager and/or VMware Live Recovery.
- Identify trends and deliver solutions to resolve challenges across multiple VMware products.
- Determine and resolve complex technical and operational challenges customers may experience.
- Mentor and manage consultants on VCF solutions.
- Develop detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) and drive revenue growth through professional services engagements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience implementing and configuring vSphere environments.
- Experience designing, deploying, and configuring NSX and NSX migrations, including microsegmentation.
- Experience designing, deploying, and configuring data center networks or troubleshooting networking solutions involving LANs, VLANs, WANs, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Hands-on installation and configuration knowledge of Aria Operations and Log Insight.
- Experience with deploying Aria Automation, configuring service catalogs, and integrating Aria Automation Orchestrator.
- Senior skills in designing, installing, and configuring disaster recovery solutions using Site Recovery Manager and/or VMware Live Recovery.
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture or software engineering.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications
- Valid VCAP-DCV Design and Deploy Certification (minimum) or equivalent experience.
- VCDX-DCV certification (optional).
- 5+ years of experience with VMware NSX or 10+ deployment projects involving NSX.
- CCNP or equivalent certification.
- VMware Cloud Foundation implementation experience, including familiarity with VCF topology models, CloudBuilder, and SDDC Manager.
- Ability to provide leadership and best practices on technical, product-centric topics.
Pay
The estimated annual pay range for this position is $190,000 - $250,000, including base salary and bonus. Compensation varies based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
