About the role

AWS Solutions Architects partner with customers to design and build some of the most scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures and solutions. They collaborate with AWS Sales and other AWS teams to help address customer business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. Your role involves helping organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions and providing advice on strategies for migrating existing workloads to the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect end-to-end cloud solutions for complex customer requirements, making technical trade-offs and evaluating architectures for scale while ensuring solutions are extensible, reusable, secure, reliable, cost-optimized, and performant.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customer senior leaders, understanding their business objectives and technical challenges to influence strategic direction and ensure technology decisions will meet long-term business outcomes.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences, creating technical content that is easily adopted and reusable by others while harmonizing discordant views to build consensus.
  • Lead technical discussions and dive deeply into technical details with customer teams across application architecture, system design, and implementation considerations, proactively identifying gaps and opportunities.
  • Drive effective customer feedback gathering, distilling and translating feedback into clear business and technical requirements for product and engineering teams while contributing to reference designs and reusable artifacts.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Qualifications

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Skills

Our ideal candidate should be able to interact and communicate effectively with various teams at AWS, including services, marketing, and professional services, while also representing their own team to executive management. Travel is mostly regional, and post-pandemic is expected to be 15-20%.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
