Solutions Architect, MidMarket West
About the role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and Amazon CloudFront) directly with customers and AWS Partners. You will own the technical engagement around specific implementation projects, provide best practices, develop deep expertise in AWS technologies, and serve as a subject matter expert on security for customer applications and services.
You will collaborate with a world-class sales and business development team, lead efforts to capture and share best practices within the AWS Solution Architect community, and work with some of the brightest technical minds in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical engagement for specific implementation projects, including designing and recommending cloud computing architectures.
- Provide best practices and technical guidance to customers on AWS technologies and application construction.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
- Lead efforts to capture and share best practices within the AWS Solution Architect community.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to align technical solutions with customer needs.
- Stay current with technical skills and industry trends to maintain thought leadership.
- Deliver technical presentations, including whiteboard sessions and group presentations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
- 4+ years of experience in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
- Experience designing, developing, deploying, or migrating to cloud environments.
- Operational experience with web services, management, and security.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Hands-on experience with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
Pay
Base salary ranges:
- Irvine, CA: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- San Diego, CA: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- Santa Monica, CA: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
Additional compensation may include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits.
