Solutions Architect , AWS Enterprise Industries
About the role
The ECRT Solutions Architecture team covers the largest Engineering, Construction, Real Estate, Transportation, and Logistics customers across North America. We sit within the AWS Enterprise Business Unit and drive technical outcomes across cloud transformation, AI adoption, network cloudification, and software modernization. The team operates with a "forward-deployed competence" mindset—bringing deep technical expertise directly to where customers need it most.
Responsibilities
- Build working prototypes in customer non-production sandbox environments using AI-augmented development tools (Kiro, Claude Code, Bedrock) to validate architectural recommendations and accelerate customer adoption
- Implement directly to unblock customer decisions: build PoCs for digital twins (IoT TwinMaker), fleet IoT, predictive maintenance, and agentic AI, proving architectural approaches that conversations alone cannot validate
- Deploy infrastructure using IaC (CDK, Terraform) in customer sandboxes, demonstrating scalability and security patterns
- Apply GenAI and agentic systems (multi-agent orchestration, RAG pipelines, foundation model integration) where they solve ECRT customer problems
- Frame and resolve technical trade-offs involving multiple competing concerns (security vs. cost vs. operational burden vs. time-to-market vs. industry compliance), bringing a clear recommendation with alternatives articulated
- Own the architectural decisions that downstream teams build against and own the consequences with the customer when those decisions need revisiting
Requirements
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Experience taking a leading role in building complex software or computing infrastructure that has been successfully delivered to customers
Qualifications
- Hands-on proficiency with AI/ML in production: agentic architectures, RAG pipelines, multi-agent orchestration, foundation model integration
- Experience with AI-augmented development workflows (Kiro, Claude Code, or similar)
- Track record of producing original technical content (reference architectures, workshops, code) adopted by peers or customers
- Knowledge of the broader technology ecosystem including partner solutions and open-source alternatives
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Relevant AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, Specialty certifications)
Skills
- Technical self-sufficiency, yet ability to seek help when needed
- Technical currency to provide current capability-based guidance
- Ability to lead and influence customer technical direction based on evidence
- Experience in construction technology, real estate platforms, transportation/logistics, or industrial IoT (digital twins, fleet management, BIM, predictive maintenance)
