Total Experience: 15–18 years
Relevant Experience: Minimum 10–12 years in PTC Windchill PLM with at least 5 years in Solution Architecture roles.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in PTC Windchill PLM (11.x/12.x/13.x)
- Hands-on experience in Windchill PDMLink, ProjectLink, MPMLink, PartsLink, Change Management, Document Management
- Experience with Creo Integration (WGM) and CAD Data Management
- Expertise in Windchill Customization using Java, JCA, JSP, MVC, Info*Engine, OData, REST APIs, and Web Services
- Experience in Windchill Upgrade, Migration, and Performance Tuning
- Strong understanding of Windchill Data Model, Access Control, Lifecycle, Workflow, and Business Rules
- Experience integrating Windchill with enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle ERP, MES, Teamcenter, Enovia, and third-party systems
- Knowledge of Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM) and Data Migration strategies
- Strong database knowledge (Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL)
- Experience with Apache Tomcat, Method Server configuration, LDAP, SSO, and Security
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and container technologies is desirable
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, and Agile methodologies
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise Windchill PLM implementations, upgrades, and modernization programs.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing Windchill solutions aligned with business and enterprise architecture standards.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, product owners, and IT leadership to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Define application architecture, integration architecture, data migration strategy, and deployment approach.
- Lead technical design workshops and prepare architecture documents, solution blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Provide technical leadership for Windchill customization, configuration, workflows, lifecycle management, and integrations.
- Architect integrations between Windchill and ERP, CAD, MES, CRM, and other enterprise applications.
- Review solution designs, code quality, security, performance, and best practices.
- Lead Windchill upgrade and migration initiatives from legacy PLM platforms.
- Mentor development teams and establish architecture governance, coding standards, and technical best practices.
- Support effort estimation, technical proposals, solution reviews, and pre-sales activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams on deployment, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and cloud migration strategies.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Stay current with PTC product roadmap and recommend innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Certifications
- PTC Windchill Certified Professional/Administrator (preferred)
- PTC Windchill Solution Architect Certification (preferred)
- TOGAF Certification (preferred)
- AWS or Azure Cloud Certification (good to have)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agilist (good to have)
Skills
Must Have
- 15–18 years of IT experience with extensive experience in PTC Windchill PLM.
- Strong Solution Architecture experience on large-scale enterprise PLM implementations.
- Expertise in Windchill customization, configuration, workflows, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with Windchill integrations using REST APIs, Java, Info*Engine, and Web Services.
- Hands-on experience in PLM upgrades, migrations, and performance optimization.
- Strong Java/J2EE development background.
- Excellent stakeholder management, technical leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Good to Have
- Experience with Creo, ThingWorx, Navigate, Codebeamer, or Arbortext.
- Knowledge of Digital Thread, Digital Twin, MBSE, ALM, and Model-Based Engineering.
- Experience with cloud-native deployments (AWS/Azure/Kubernetes).
- Exposure to Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Devices, or Industrial Engineering domains.
- Experience supporting pre-sales, RFP/RFI responses, solution estimation, and architecture governance.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and PLM analytics solutions.
