Solutions Architect
About the role
As a solutions architect, you'll translate your customer's IT needs and future goals into a plan by crafting complex IT solutions. You'll help transform the way the Army uses technology, including cloud migration, integrating advanced technology, and modernizing legacy systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement large-scale enterprise solutions, integrating disparate technologies, and implementing security controls
- Author technical artifacts such as logical and physical network diagrams, technical specifications, and system installation procedures
- Implement solutions using modern system architecture principles, including microservices
- Work with software development teams to architect enterprise systems and align them with government evaluation criteria and statements of work
- Modernize enterprise software delivery in support of digital transformation
- Manage technical delivery, including modernization efforts in forward-leaning in the DoD, federal government, or commercial entities
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing large-scale enterprise solutions
- 5+ years of experience working with cloud computing platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience implementing solutions using modern system architecture principles
- Experience in business development, including architecting enterprise systems
- Experience modernizing enterprise software delivery in support of digital transformation
- Experience managing technical delivery, including modernization efforts in forward-leaning in the DoD, federal government, or commercial entities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in software engineering, or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree
Skills
- Experience working closely with software development teams
- Experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using agile methods
- Experience evaluating architectural tradeoffs and designing robust service-based software applications for scalable enterprise production use
- Experience with full-stack development in a professional environment for enterprise production capabilities
- Knowledge of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening skills

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
Employees working remotely may be required to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility, depending on the role and responsibilities.
