About the role
The Solution-Level Software Systems Engineer will work on the IFMC Project Office, AMD Mission Command Product Office, supporting various systems from multiple product offices. This role involves developing system-level concepts, defining external interfaces, outlining system behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria.
Responsibilities
- Work as a member of the Solutions System Engineering Team to prioritize capabilities in each Program Increment (PI).
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand the scope of initiatives/capabilities.
- Develop concepts using a Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach in an Agile software workflow and environment.
- Create and modify artifacts and information into Solutions Initiative Documents (SIDs), Solutions Engineering Documents (SEDs), and refine Jira tickets as necessary.
- Model capability behavior (SV-1, SV-4) using the MagicDraw MBSE tool.
- Define acceptance criteria for a capability and trace these to behavior in the model.
- Determine if the current Capabilities Description Document (CDD) and System Specification requirements are satisfied by the capability and establish these links in the model.
- Recommend follow-up Feature tickets to be implemented at the program level.
- Facilitate/lead both internal and formal reviews of initiatives/capabilities, adjudicate review comments, and transition recommended Capabilities/Features to the backlog by drafting them in Jira.
- Participate in regularly scheduled team stand-ups, planning, retrospectives, and prioritization meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- An active SECRET security clearance and the ability to maintain one.
- A bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- At least 10 years of system engineering or related experience.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Proficiency in MagicDraw.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interface with various levels of workers/leaders.
- Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
- A master's degree in systems engineering is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with Army Air and Missile Defense Command and Control systems, such as IBCS, Patriot, FAAD C2, and ADAM, is preferred.
- Experience integrating Command and Control Systems in a System of Systems architecture is beneficial.
