About the role
Northern Trust Asset Management is seeking a Solution Architect with strong expertise in building Data and AI business solutions. The candidate will join a global, dynamic, and fast-paced team driving strategic data initiatives for NTAM.
Responsibilities
- Document application architecture for the business unit across multiple programs.
- Interface with global teams to collaborate on business deliveries.
- Provide design-level functional and technical expertise along with best practices.
- Understand and implement the latest delivery approaches based on cloud architecture.
- Lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
- Display strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principles, scalable patterns, and technology modernization.
- Design databases, data models, data processes, and data warehouse applications leveraging best practices and tools.
- Act as an Azure cloud solution architect to provide technology solutions to business problems, with a strong understanding of various Azure services.
- Lead teams through influence to build knowledge on end-to-end solution considerations using domain-driven design and modern engineering practices.
- Build a strategic data platform with a data product mindset.
Requirements
- Expertise in solutioning Snowflake on Azure Cloud for complex business needs.
- Strong understanding of production-enabled AI business tools.
- Evangelize data and AI strategy among stakeholders such as business users and various data teams through design, documentation, review, and cross-team support.
- Technical expertise in architecting, building, deploying, and maintaining business applications.
- Investment Management or Asset Management experience recommended.
- Expert-level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts, and database architecture.
- Strong understanding of Snowflake internals, integration, and data processing, including configuration, maintenance, and optimization.
- Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL data stores, methods, and approaches.
- Experience with Dimensional, Star, Data Vault, and Snowflake data modeling.
- Rich experience designing and implementing database models (LDM & PDM), data flow diagrams, database schema, and DB scripts.
- Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS or Azure) or strong architecture experience.
- Advanced analytics techniques using ML, AI, GenAI, Agentic AI, and MLOps.
- Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models for large-scale technology platforms.
Pay
Salary range is $137,400 - 233,600 USD. This is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
