Solid Waste Project Manager
About the role
HDR is seeking a Solid Waste Project Manager with experience managing and performing technical work on solid waste and recycling projects in New England to join our nationally ranked team. This role is central to our strategy to expand our presence and develop new opportunities across New England.
Responsibilities
- Function as a project manager or technical lead on small to large solid waste projects.
- Establish client relations and work closely on marketing, client development, contractual, design and production activities.
- Cookstaff staffing and workload allocations throughout the project development and execution phases.
- Complete deliverables and milestones on schedule.
- Work closely with Business/Accounting Manager, Project Managers and others on project reviews and updates as required.
- Comply with and implement company QA/QC procedures.
- Provide contract management support.
- Supervise project staff and act as mentor for less experienced solid waste technical staff and Project Managers.
- Work with New England Waste Sector Lead and waste client development leads to prioritize marketing targets.
- Develop marketing strategies and proposals for new and existing solid waste clients.
- Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of solid waste engineering projects such as solid waste facilities, transfer stations, landfill and planning studies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 7 years related experience
- A minimum of 2 years project management experience
- The ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with New England state solid waste and recycling regulations and permitting
- Experience with solid waste master planning and implementation of waste diversion programs
- Experience with organics management and organics facility design
- Demonstrated understanding of client relationship management and evidence of experience interacting directly with clients
- Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D

Pay and Schedule
The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
