About the role
We are seeking a skilled Ballistics Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and testing of advanced solid rocket motors for a variety of missions and applications. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to innovate and optimize solid propulsion technologies.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the design and analysis of solid rocket motor components and systems.
- Collaborate with propulsion, materials, and structural engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Conduct numerical simulations and analyses to optimize motor performance, including thrust, burn rate, and pressure profiles.
- Perform laboratory and ground-based testing of solid rocket motor prototypes.
- Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing techniques for motor production.
- Contribute to the development of testing procedures and safety protocols.
- Document design processes, results, and findings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in solid propulsion technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong background in solid rocket motor design, analysis, and testing.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools for simulation and analysis.
- Familiarity with propulsion system integration and optimization.
- Experience with additive manufacturing and advanced materials is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety in all stages of design and testing.
