What You Can Expect
As a Solar Technician II, your daily responsibilities will include accessing and managing tasks through SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and execute technical work orders related to solar panel systems, manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly). You will also initiate work orders for equipment repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations within qualified skill areas, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Coordinate high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), including substation operations, equipment lockouts, and grounding.
- Work independently or as part of a crew to complete assigned tasks across solar power plant systems.
- Utilize SCADA systems and other digital tools for monitoring and diagnostics, along with test equipment such as meggers and IV curve testers.
- Travel to various sites as required to support maintenance and operational needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in solar generation sites, wind generation sites, manufacturing or mining operations, or controls & industrial maintenance.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
