Solar Technician II, Emerald Green Solar Site

As the Solar Technician II at the Emerald Green solar plant in Greentown, IN, your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, troubleshoot, and fulfill technical repair work orders for solar panels
  • Manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly)
  • Initiate work orders for equipment repairs
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
  • Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations within qualified skill areas, ensuring safety and efficiency
  • Coordinate high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), including substation operations, equipment lockouts, and grounding
  • Work independently or as part of a crew to complete assigned tasks across solar power plant systems
  • Utilize SCADA systems and other digital tools for monitoring and diagnostics, along with test equipment such as meggers and IV curve testers
  • Travel to various sites as required to support maintenance and operational needs
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies (must reside within 50 miles of the site)

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in solar generation sites, wind generation sites, manufacturing or mining operations, or controls & industrial maintenance
  • Ability to work long hours, often outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable standing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor
  • Daily attendance at a worksite required
  • Available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
  • Willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Position consists of 20% work indoors and 80% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions
  • Could involve some lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay

Hourly Range: $26.03 - $43.39 USD hourly. This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay.
