Solar Service Technician Full-Time | Field-Based | $28–$35/hour About This Role SpartanX is seeking an experienced Solar Service Technician to support residential solar service operations across our active markets. This is a hands-on field position focused on troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, commissioning, and post-installation service. We're looking for a licensed electrician with residential solar experience who can independently diagnose problems, determine the appropriate solution, and complete high-quality repairs while providing a professional homeowner experience. What You’ll Do Troubleshoot and repair residential solar PV systemsDiagnose inverter faults, production issues, monitoring failures, and electrical deficienciesPerform electrical repairs, equipment replacements, service upgrades, and warranty-related workTroubleshoot post-installation system and electrical issuesTest and verify system functionality, monitoring connectivity, and restored productionInterpret electrical drawings, site plans, one-lines, and system schematicsPerform commissioning and recommissioning as neededEnsure all electrical work complies with NEC, local codes, AHJ requirements, and company standardsMaintain accurate service documentation, photos, findings, and completion notesCommunicate professionally with homeowners regarding findings, repairs, and next stepsCoordinate with Service Management and Operations to resolve issues efficientlyMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment What We’re Looking For Active electrical license requiredPrevious residential solar service experience requiredStrong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsStrong understanding of residential solar PV systems, inverters, monitoring platforms, and electrical equipmentKnowledge of NEC and residential electrical code requirementsAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and system documentationAbility to work independently and manage service appointments efficientlyStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipProfessional homeowner communication and customer service skillsComfortable working on rooftops, ladders, and outdoors in varying conditionsValid driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to safely lift, carry, and move equipment throughout the workday Preferred Qualifications NABCEP certificationOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationBattery storage experienceExperience with warranty and post-installation service workExperience with multiple inverter and monitoring platforms Schedule Primarily Monday–Friday, With Occasional Saturday Availability Required.
