About the Role

Moss’ Solar Safety Coordinator supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team in the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Moss Solar’s EHS programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements within an assigned project. This position leads a project site to achieve these goals.

This position requires frequent physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and may occasionally handle loads exceeding that amount with assistance. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, loud noise levels, and extreme temperatures may occur. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.

This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position reporting to the Solar Safety Manager, requiring high travel across multiple states.

Responsibilities

  • Supports EHS functions on a project site.
  • Supports the maintenance and implementation of EHS programs, compliance plans, and initiatives on assigned site.
  • Leads by influence and strategic partnership with project and construction teams on assigned site.
  • Facilitates meetings and training sessions.
  • Evaluates environmental health and safety-related risks.
  • Applies knowledge of record-keeping principles and practices.
  • Evaluates potential EHS-related risks.
  • Works independently and with a team, demonstrating attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred) or 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of DOT, DOL, EPA regulations, and OSHA/industrial safety compliance as they relate to the power generation industry.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record; ability to safely drive a company vehicle.
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
