Responsibilities

  • Develop design documents per sales engineering and contract documents.
  • Work with internal and external engineering teams to ensure designs are coordinated with budget and site conditions for successful project execution.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule activities of construction managers and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
  • Liaison with building owners to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of the Construction Manager and on-site foreman to ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget; investigate and implement corrective measures for potentially serious situations.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interests while maintaining client relationships.
  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects align with design, budget, and schedule, interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, union officials, subcontractors, and security.
  • Ensure adherence to all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards; interpret policies as required.
  • Maintain official project logs and documentation files.
  • Assist with the implementation and interpretation of safety programs.
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
  • Review contracts to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Develop and send bid requests to engineers, subcontractors, and vendors; evaluate responses to award contracts based on price, value, experience, and customer service.
  • Review engineering drawings to ensure proper system design meets customer needs and contract deliverables.
  • Facilitate weekly project meetings and track action items.
  • Conduct risk planning and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain construction documents through PlanGrid software to ensure the operations team has the most recent documents.
  • Track daily reporting, internal labor budgets, and open tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Forecast current and expected costs against the budget weekly to ensure financial performance of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in construction project management.
  • Solar project management experience preferred.
  • Solar or renewable energy experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
  • Successful background investigation and pre-employment drug test.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and follow-up skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong work ethic and high level of self-motivation.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Participation in local community, non-profit, or governmental activities/organizations for business development and personal improvement.
