About the role
Peninsula Solar is a fully licensed electrical and building contractor specializing in high-end installations of solar arrays and energy storage systems in Northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Responsibilities
- Install solar modules and racking for both roof and ground-mounted arrays
- Use hand and power tools to mount racking systems and wire solar components
- Perform site assessments
- Ensure installations meet safety codes and company quality standards
- Collaborate with project managers and crew members
- Follow detailed installation plans
- Communicate with customers on-site to answer basic questions about system operation
Qualifications
- Base-level knowledge of solar power and solar systems, including basic electrical concepts and system components
- Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools and power tools for construction and installation tasks
- Familiarity with general construction practices
- Comfort working at heights, on roofs, and in varying weather conditions, with a strong focus on safety
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow technical instructions and diagrams
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with reliability in meeting schedules and project timelines
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to job sites within the region; company vehicles are provided for transportation to job sites
- Previous experience in solar installation, electrical work, or roofing is beneficial; relevant certifications are a plus
- Flexibility to travel during the work week
