Role Responsibilities
- Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV electrical and mechanical equipment
- Ensure that all tasks are performed safely and by site operating procedures
- Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSA’s, Permit to Work, and job-specific documentation
- Proactively look for improvement opportunities to job job-appropriate processes and procedures
- Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements
- Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required
- Monitor the activities of maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions where appropriate
- Perform electrical testing as necessary, including insulation and thermal testing
- Document all work and generate reports as necessary
- Use Microsoft Office for communication, presentation, and documentation
- Use computer software in support of maintenance and troubleshooting
- Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environment
- At times, may assist with BOP activities
- Respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring immediate troubleshooting and corrective actions
- Ensure site access, site HSE, security, deliveries, and inspections are performed by site protocols
- Interface with any 3rd party contractors working at our facilities
- Available to respond to nontraditional operating hours for operations, maintenance, and emergent issues
- Operate mobile equipment, including mowers, forklifts, tractors, excavators, and motor vehicles
- Professionally represent the company with contractor and vendor relations, as well as during partnership opportunities within the community
- All other duties as assigned
- A High School diploma or equivalent required
- An Associate degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited US school other than correspondence or internet is preferred
- Nevada State PV Installers licence
- NABCEP Certfication or Electrical License preferred
- An unrestricted driver's license in good standing required
- Minimum 2 years’ work experience as a maintenance electrician (commercial or industrial), or 4 years of experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician performing electrical work on operating equipment; or 2 years’ experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, transmission, or distribution
- Experience in solar operations and maintenance a plus
- Skilled in power plant operations, electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance as well as substation maintenance
- Competent in power plant safety protocols
- Competent in electrical safety
- Competent in understanding the NEK
- Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools
- Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures
- Able to work within tight deadlines and evolving schedules
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Routine operation of a computer/tablet and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day
- Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to and over 50 lbs.
- This position is a field-based role that involves some travel and visits to other RWE Americas offices and field locations

Pay Range
The hourly base salary range for this position in Nevada is $32.52 - $44.00. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
