Solar Design Engineer and Costing

Responsibilities

• Prepare solar system designs for rooftop, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.
• Conduct site analysis and prepare system layout, SLD, electrical drawings, and technical proposals.
• Prepare detailed BOQ, cost estimation, project budget, and financial analysis for solar projects.
• Calculate solar capacity, inverter selection, cable sizing, protection system, and energy generation estimation.
• Prepare item-wise costing for PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, batteries, cables, protection devices, installation materials, and accessories.
• Prepare project-wise cost breakdown including material cost, installation cost, transportation cost, labor cost, testing & commissioning cost, and overhead expenses.
• Analyze project profitability, cost optimization options, and price competitiveness before quotation submission.
• Cook up technical and costing-related information for sales, procurement, project, and installation teams.
• Prepare technical compliance sheets, quotation support documents, project costing reports, and financial proposal documents.
• Support vendor communication, product selection, price comparison, and technical evaluation.
• Collect vendor prices, compare supplier quotations, and recommend cost-effective technical solutions.
• Affix tender documents, commercial offers, and cost justification reports.
• Ensure designs follow relevant electrical, safety, and renewable energy standards.
• Review project specifications and identify cost-impacting technical requirements.
• Support management in preparing final project pricing, margin analysis, and budget approval documents.
