About the role
This position is that of a soil conservationist responsible for performing professional and technical work for the Soil & Water Conservation District in an agricultural environment. This position provides assistance in the development, planning, contracting and application of land conservation practices and programs consistent with policy and procedures in cooperation with other agencies for the purpose of soil and water conservation for residents of Montgomery County.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements land conservation practices and programs consistent with policy and procedures.
- Provides assistance in the planning and application of land conservation practices and programs.
- Works cooperatively with other agencies to achieve soil and water conservation goals.
- Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to soil and water conservation.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in soil science, environmental science, or a related field.
- Experience: One year of experience in soil and water conservation or related field.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of soil and water conservation principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
