Essential Duties And Responsibilities Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirementsDevelop test plans, test schedule, and approachWrite test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenariosConduct walkthroughs on test case/script with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development LeadsPerform and lead tests of software and/or Information Technology (IT) systems to ensure proper operation and freedom from defectsPerform verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures, and criteria with an appropriate verification environmentDocument and communicate test resultsSupport analysis of test results and resolution of open issuesDocument and work to resolve all complex problemsReport progress on problem resolution to managementDevise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurationsCreate daily test metrics and reportingOccasionally perform other IT system engineering activities such as requirements, design, installation, operation, sustainment, and supportReceive assignments in the form of objects and establish goals to meet outlined objectivesProvide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidanceMeasure whether objectives have been metProvide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factorsIndependently determine and develop approach to solutionsDemonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutionsContribute to completion of specific programs and projectsFrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contactsRepresent organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects Required Skills and Experience A proven track record of working on complex software projects and ensuring high-quality deliverablesExperience in both manual and automated testingExperience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, test scripts, and test plansFamiliarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment tools (e.g., GitHub Actions)Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git and Apache Subversion (SVN))An understanding of performance testing and tools (e.g., JMeter and Gatling)Familiarity in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScriptExperience with defect tracking and management tools (e.g. JIRA and Bugzilla)Experience in Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) productsAn understanding of security testing practices and toolsA knowledge of different types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and collaboration abilitiesAn ability to work independently and as part of a teamAttention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workAn ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlinesAn ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenariosExperience with test management toolsKnowledge of DevOps practices and toolsAn ability to conduct test reviews and provide constructive feedbackA strong understanding of risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and context-driven testingFamiliarity with cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure) Professional Certificationsn/aYears of Professional Experience10+ years of professional experienceDesired experienceDeep hands-on EDIFECS experience in Electronic Data Interchange X.12 (EDI) Transactions Standards involving key X12 workflows involving the following transactions: X.12 medical claims (837, 834, 835, 277, etc)270/271 and 278 transactions999 transactions Experience with Edifecs Advanced certifications in testing or quality assurance (e.g., International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB), Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE), Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA)) are preferredFormal EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related fieldCitizenship RequirementU.S. Citizenship required for this specific opportunitySecurity Clearance RequirementsMust possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI)CRITICAL NOTES: SSG will not make assumptions regarding your qualifications.
