Software Testing Engineer

CyberMaxx believes in defending against wide-scale societal disruption through cyberattacks. We integrate Managed Detection & Response (MDR) with offensive security, threat hunting, security research, and digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) to adapt to new threats.

What You Will Do

• Perform visual, behavioral, and security QA analysis on web, desktop, and mobile applications
• Utilize a mixture of custom test cases and readily available testing toolsets for all layers of testing from Unit to User Acceptance
• Document findings as bug reports in Jira for the development team to resolve
• Manage the lifecycle of reported issues within a scrum environment
• Work with the development team and other department leads to resolve reported issues
• Write test-cases in Python for both manual and automated testing
• Complete and review documentation for projects or any operational efforts
• Provide system performance monitoring and troubleshooting, including database tuning in MySQL
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
• Other activities as assigned

What We Are Looking For

• 3+ years professional experience performing QA duties, with at least 2 years specifically working with software development
• Completion of a Bachelor's or higher post-graduate degree, and 3+ years industry experience, or equivalent additional industry experience
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and REST API testing
• Experience with automated testing tools and approaches
• Experience with security testing methodologies
• Cybersecurity industry experience is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a proactive approach to security
