Position Overview
- Term: 6 + months
- Location: on-site in Parkville, MO
- Pay: up to $49/hr
- Hours: M-F- 9-5
What you will do as the Software Tester/QA Engineer
We are seeking a mid-level Software Tester with hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing to support software systems used in HVAC products, including systems that manage and monitor 1-stage and 2-stage compressors. This role will focus on ensuring software quality, reliability, and performance across applications that support operational, control, and user-facing HVAC technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in testing methodologies, exposure to automation frameworks, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering and product teams.
- Design, develop, and implement automated test scripts to simulate real-world user interactions and system behaviors
- Execute automated and manual test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability
- Analyze test results and logs to identify, reproduce, and document software bugs and or defects
- Collaborate with software developer, product owners, and systems engineers to define testing requirements and acceptance criteria
- Develop, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage
- Ensure test coverage aligns with business, operational, and compliance requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and documentation
What You Will Bring To The Team
- 2–5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance
- Experience executing both manual and automated test cases
- Hands-on experience with at least one test automation tool or framework (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, or similar)
- Understanding software testing lift cycle, including test plans, test cases, and Bug & defect lifecycle management
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development environments
- Ability to analyze technical issues and clearly document findings
