Software Test Engineer - Frisco, Texas

About the role

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with developers and product teams to design, execute, and maintain test plans ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. This position operates on a two-week-onsite, two-week-remote rotation, with per diem and all travel expenses provided for the duration of the program. Future programs provide opportunity to work fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain test plans to ensure software quality, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to identify defects and improve software quality.
• Develop and document test cases and procedures.
• Interpret technical requirements, interface specifications, system documentation, and architectures.
• Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and defect reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support the delivery of high-quality solutions to customers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3–7 years of experience in software or systems testing within aerospace, defense, robotics, autonomy, or embedded systems.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including Verification & Validation (V&V), regression, functional, and integration testing.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements, interface specifications, system documentation, and architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and defect reporting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with unmanned systems, autonomous platforms, aerospace, or defense programs.
• Familiarity with HITL/HIL and SITL test environments.
• Experience supporting flight testing, field integration, and first-of-type system deployments.
• Knowledge of aerospace and defense standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-HDBK-516C, and related MIL-STD frameworks.
• Experience testing embedded and distributed systems.

Pay

$75,000 - $145,000

Schedule
