This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Responsibilities
- Mentor engineers in developing safety critical software to avoid hazards.
- Develop embedded safety software and demonstrate a deep understanding of software engineering, not just programming and testing.
- Train engineers, review software processes, perform safety analysis and identify requirements.
- Audit program compliance to safety objectives.
- Perform risk characterization of open problems.
- Champion safety.
Requirements
- Minimum of a B.Sc. degree in aerospace engineering or related field.
- 5+ years software engineering experience developing embedded software in a safety industry, with 2+ of those years performing compliance audits OR developing plans to one or more standards (e.g. NASA-STD-8739.8A, FAA Part 450.141, MIL-STD-882, RCC 319-19, IEC 61508, RTCA DO-178C, IEC 61508, ISO 26262, etc.).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on rapid development programs.

Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Skills
- Assessing compliance to regulatory requirements.
- Experience with object-oriented software development, model-based engineering, and/or formal methods.
- Experience with the STPA safety process.

Pay
Base Pay Range For WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20 Other Site Ranges May Differ
