Software Robotics Design Engineer

About the role

Help bring advanced robotics systems to life. Fameccanica North America is building its new Robotics & Automation Engineering Hub just north of Boston, and this role will help shape it from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software for robotics and industrial automation applications.
• Work with PLCs, motion control, robotics platforms, and HMI/SCADA systems.
• Support system integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Partner with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to deliver solutions that meet technical, timing, and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Strong experience in robotics, automation, and industrial software development.
• Experience with robot programming, PLC platforms such as Rockwell or Siemens, motion control, and HMI/SCADA systems.
• Experience with C#, Python, C++, simulation tools, or digital twin technologies is a plus.

Additional Details

• This position is based in Middleton, Massachusetts, just north of Boston, at Fameccanica's new Robotics & Automation Hub.
• Travel is expected to be approximately 15-30%, depending on project needs.
