Job Title Software Research Engineer Location: Menlo Park, California Job Type Full-time, 6-month On-Going Contract, W2 Schedule Monday – Friday, Remote, PST preferred Pay Range $103.45 per hour Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the near future. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Develop Python scripts to parse and download large datasets from the web in an efficient manner Write SQL queries to further process data Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices Troubleshoot and debug software applications Ensure software applications meet quality and performance standards Provide timely solutions to technical issues Document software applications and maintain technical documentation Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members Onboard open-source ML models and build data curation pipelines Requirements 6+ years of experience in research engineering, ML engineering, or software engineering involving machine learning implementation Strong proficiency in Python programming Experience with PyTorch and SQL Proficiency working with Linux systems and shell scripting Experience with large-scale software development projects Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field Experience with machine learning, LLMs, NLP, computer vision, or multimodal AI Experience with ML infrastructure, ML platforms, or ML backend systems Experience with web scraping and processing large-scale datasets Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools Publications, research papers, or conference presentations related to machine learning or AI Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
