About the role

Lead test automation strategy and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers. Drive process improvements and implement enterprise-level test strategies. Collaborate with architects and developers to design testable applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership, consultation, and mentoring for test automation.
  • Advance product quality through testing innovations and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and Developers to design testable applications.
  • Develop technical roadmaps and plans for implementing enterprise/program test strategies.
  • Design and manage technical proof-of-concept and feasibility studies.
  • Resolve technical issues, anticipate risks, and ensure timely management escalation.
  • Utilize analytical skills to determine the root cause of defects and issues.
  • Influence and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analyze, optimize, improve, and maintain current test automation suites.
  • Master enterprise/program high-level business workflows.
  • Mentor junior Software Quality Engineers to improve technical ability and effectiveness.
  • Promote and support the implementation of automated CI/CT/CD pipelines.
  • Develop and extend test automation frameworks for UI, Microservices, and API.
  • Guarantee compliance to automation framework, standards, and best practices.
  • Facilitate automated, on-demand test automation metrics.
  • Ensure automated tests are run early and often, providing quick feedback to the team.
  • Seek stakeholder feedback via test automation demos.
  • Accelerate test development by leveraging existing assets, standards, and best practices.
  • Add new functions/methods to libraries for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure automated test design includes modularization, parameterization, robustness, scalability, and flexibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
  • 7-8 years of software development experience.
  • 3-4 years of experience designing and implementing test automation.
  • Experience in multi-tiered, complex system design and architecture.
  • Excellent knowledge of SDLC and Agile development practices.
  • Expert in Java, Selenium, BDD (Cucumber/JBehave), TestNG, and Eclipse/IntelliJ.
  • Proficient in SQL, NoSQL, Unix/Linux, Windows, Web Services, and Mainframe.
  • Experience with DevOps/CI/CD toolsets such as Bamboo/Jenkins/Concourse, Maven, Git, and BitBucket.
  • Exposure to RESTful APIs and Cloud Platforms.
  • Experience with Mobile Testing platforms (Perfecto/Appium).
  • Experience with Cross Browser testing.
  • Expert in QA process, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Forecasting, estimation, and ROI analysis skills.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to see broader implications and recommend strategic solutions.
  • Self-starter with positive, adaptable, and multi-tasking abilities in changing environments.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills with technical and business partners.
