About the role

This position involves the testing of software control of Ion Implanter developed for wafer processing produced by Axcelis Technologies. The ideal candidate has a strong background working on complex electro-mechanical systems and product testing.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team environment to review requirements and design.
  • Develop and validate test case matrices that cover all hardware and software requirements with a focus on customer use cases.
  • Develop and validate hardware and software installation procedures for release to internal and external customers.
  • Operate Ion Implant equipment and simulator system to perform hardware and software validation, and utilize various test methodologies, tools, and applications.
  • Perform thorough investigation of issues that arise during testing, identify root causes, and formulate containment, corrective, and preventive actions.
  • Generate detailed daily reports that capture all test results, as well as issues found.
  • Document issues in a defect tracking system with a clear and concise problem statement, root cause, supporting data & log files, and provide steps to reproduce and expected behavior.
  • Work in a clean room environment wearing a full clean room suite, and following clean protocols.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills with attention to details for reporting test results.
  • Great analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills for hardware and software failures.
  • Ability to recognize equipment malfunctions or operating problems, and provide detailed reports.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage and high-current power supplies, high-vacuum systems, electro-mechanical robots, and hardware communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of reading electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings to perform installation and validation.
  • Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and various hand tools.
  • Experience soldering electronic components and crimping electrical wires.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor ion implant equipment or related semiconductor equipment, semiconductor industry processes and standards, semiconductor factory automation, SECS/GEM SEMI standard, electrical and mechanical design standards, and SW programming languages: C, C++, C#, Unix is a plus.

Pay

The U.S. base salary range for this role is $99,120.00 - $148,680.00. This range reflects the typical compensation for this position across U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as you develop within the role.

100% onsite at Beverly, MA.
