About The Role

The Software QA Engineer II - Automation at Arthrex plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our business systems and applications. This position involves working closely with engineering and development teams to design, implement, and execute automated testing strategies that validate application functionality, security, performance, and usability. The role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and a passion for learning new technologies. The successful candidate will support complex release projects, develop automated test cases, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality assurance domain.

This hybrid role offers flexibility, with two days of onsite work at our Santa Barbara location, or remote working arrangements for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in software quality assurance
  • Proficiency in test automation frameworks and scripting languages such as C#, Python, or Java
  • Experience with testing tools like Selenium, Appium, Jenkins, Jira, and Zephyr
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, XML/JSON, and data migration processes
  • Strong documentation skills for test plans, test cases, and defect reports
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage complex software release projects, including test planning, estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Design and develop comprehensive test strategies, including manual and automated testing approaches
  • Perform functional, integration, performance, and data migration testing to ensure application quality
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to establish and maintain test environments
  • Identify, document, and communicate defects, and work with developers to facilitate timely resolutions
  • Participate in project meetings, providing status updates and contributing to requirement discussions
  • Automate test cases using C# and other scripting tools, integrating them into nightly automation runs
  • Monitor automated test results, troubleshoot failures, and log bugs as needed
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of SQA metrics and reporting dashboards
  • Ensure compliance with Arthrex's quality standards and processes throughout all testing activities
