Software QA Engineer
About the role
The Space & Sensors team at Tomorrow.io develops unique RF-based sensing systems like radar, supporting the company's Operation Tomorrow Space initiative. This includes spacecraft and constellations that collect data for seamless integration into forecasting and modeling systems.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate automated verification systems
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks in Python for validating complex C++ software and firmware systems
- Enable reliable software builds and releases
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions for building, testing, and validating software using C++ build systems (CMake/QMake)
- Build and maintain test infrastructure and continuous validation pipelines
- Partner with software and firmware teams to improve system quality
Requirements
- Python and test automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest)
- Strong Git experience (branching strategies, pull requests, rebasing, repository management)
- Design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Build systems and build automation (e.g., CMake, QMake) including cross-platform build management
- Bash scripting and strong familiarity with Linux command-line tools (e.g., ssh, ping, system utilities)
- Hardware / embedded system testing experience

As a contributor within the Space and Sensors software team, you will play a critical role in the execution of complex, multidisciplinary system development programs. Your challenges will include software quality, high-availability, release reliability, and issue tracking. Your contributions will help make sure we are building the best weather platform in the world.
