The Team
Today, what we build in Personal Systems is across three main pillars:
- Advancing leadership in Computing: laptops, desktops, business PCs, Gaming PCs, Chromebooks, Education-specific PCs, Creator-specific PCs, and Workstations.
- Creating leadership in Peripherals: monitors, docks, webcams, keyboards, mice, and high-quality gaming gear via HyperX; razor-sharp 4K video for meetings via Poly.
- Expanding Digital Services: helping IT tackle remote workforce pain points—onboarding, productivity, remote computing—supported by security and sustainability, with offerings like Teradici.
Big goal: lead in Hybrid Work and Gaming.
Job Summary
The intern will contribute to endpoint platform security solutions for modern computing environments and support innovation in edge AI, exploring technologies that improve endpoint security, performance, and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test software components for endpoint security solutions.
- Support AI/ML initiatives running on endpoint devices.
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concept applications.
- Analyze technical requirements and translate them into software solutions.
- Assist with debugging, testing, documentation, and code reviews.
- Evaluate how AI can enhance security, performance, and user experience.
- Collaborate with software engineering, security, and product teams.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical stakeholders.
Education
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
- Must be enrolled full time at an accredited university.
- Has no more than 24 months of prior work experience professionally related to the intern requisition they are applying to (not including internships, teaching assistantships, research work, or military experience).
- Able to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2027, and not require sponsorship in the future.
Required Skills
- Programming experience with Python and at least one of the following: C++, C#, or TypeScript.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience with debugging, testing, and version-control practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and work collaboratively.
- Exposure to UX/UI principles.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and AI productivity tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI/ML tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of endpoint, platform, or application security concepts.
- Familiarity with edge AI or on-device machine learning.
- Understanding of operating systems and computer architecture.
- Experience developing prototypes or user-facing applications.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $35 to $40 per hour (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
