About the role
The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. The PO will prioritize and validate software development for a Force Operations (FO) Software (SW) development team, review and interpret systems engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, and provide guidance to the development team. The role includes developing acceptance criteria for software updates, verifying delivered code, and supporting technical briefings, demonstrations, and advisement to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize software capabilities and defects in coordination with Program Management for product increments (PIs) and sprints.
- Review and interpret engineering designs and algorithms to provide technical direction to the development team.
- Define acceptance criteria for software updates and perform final verification of delivered code.
- Deliver technical briefings and demonstrations to leadership, offering courses of action (COAs) and impact analysis.
- Assist with driving the integration of capabilities and features into various software builds.
- Act as the bridge between developers and leadership, reporting on status, risks, and mission impacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
- Minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience.
- Fluency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
- Active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment.
- Ability to work onsite up to 5 days per week, depending on client needs.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS is a plus.
- Prior experience as a Product Owner of a SW development SCRUM team is a plus.
