Software Infrastucture Engineer
About the role
You will be responsible for architecting and implementing the platform layer (Bootloader through system software) on a large scale embedded system. This will also include image and software lifecycle management - packaging, upgrades, high availability, and telemetry/debug infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to design and implement the system from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement the platform layer (Bootloader through system software) on a large scale embedded system
- Manage image and software lifecycle (packaging, upgrades, etc.) on an embedded system
- Design and implement system from the ground up
- Work with HW vendors on requirements and specifications
- Develop hardware validation and stress testing suites
- Deploy observability and metrics stacks
- Develop and maintain secure boot chains (bootloader, GRUB, dm-verity, and IMA)
- Create and tune SELinux policies
- Write strong C, bash, and python programs
- Communicate and document effectively
Requirements
- 5+ years experience working with the Linux Kernel, drivers, and platform bring-up
- Experience working with HW vendors on requirements and specifications
- Experience with SW lifecycle management (packaging, upgrades, etc.) on an embedded system
- Experience with k8s, Helm charts, Ansible, and other cloud orchestration technologies
- Experience with bare-metal provisioning technologies (DHCP, PXE, IPMI)
- Understanding of Secure Boot chains (bootloader, GRUB, dm-verity, and IMA)
- Experience with SELinux policy creation and tuning
- Strong C, bash, and python programming skills
- Experience developing hardware validation and stress testing suites
- Experience deploying observability and metrics stacks
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Qualifications
- FIPS and CC certification experience is a plus
- Rust programming experience is a plus

The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 – $250,000 per year. Within this range, individual pay is determined based on job-related factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Most candidates can expect an offer within the range listed above.
