Software Engineering Manager - Cilium - Isovalent
Meet The Team
Isovalent is seeking a talented and experienced Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a team of passionate engineers. The Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the development of our innovative networking for the Cilium project, security and observability solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in software engineering, excellent leadership skills, a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products and be very familiar with Linux networking.
About the Role
We are seeking candidates located either on America’s East Coast or in Europe. This preference is to ensure alignment with our team's working hours and facilitate collaboration across time zones.
Impact
- Grow and mentor software engineers and technical leaders
- Deliver continuous feedback and performance review of engineers, with input from technical leads and senior leadership
- Track progress on projects, help engineers grow their project management skills
- Preserve the engineering culture as we scale out the team
- Be a role model of company culture and values
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors + 8 years of related experience, or Masters + 6 years of related experience, or PhD + 3 years of related experience
- Prior Engineering Management or Supervisory experience
- 5+ years of experience in Software Development (any language), with at least 2+ years of experience with Go
- 3+ years of Linux, Kubernetes and the networking stack
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong technical background and good understanding of cloud native technologies
- Software engineering experience
- Experience of interacting and working with customers
- Managing independent, strong, and diverse teams
- Strong understanding of customer value
- Strong networking background is a big plus

Message to Applicants
The starting salary range posted for this position is $149,100.00 to $218,900.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training.
