Software Engineering Manager, AWS CloudFormation

About the role

The Provider Experience team at AWS Infrastructure as Code develops services like CloudFormation and Cloud Control API to help customers easily and efficiently adopt AWS services. This role involves working alongside principal engineers, defining architecture, and implementing software.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with principal engineers to refine product requirements and define architecture
• Lead the implementation and launch of software
• Communicate with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and describe software features
• Partner with product or program management teams to define and develop multi-tier web services

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams
• 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
• Experience in engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership

Skills

• Experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems
• Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers

Pay

$184,900.00 - $250,200.00 USD annually
