Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage the life cycle of software projects and solutions.
• Collaborate with the product owner to manage the product backlog and exercise ownership of technical features.
• Manage the software development methodology and practices.
• Convert business requirements to technical requirements and maintain the technical roadmap.
• Prioritize technical roadmap features and collaborate with project managers to determine level of effort and estimates.
• Create and implement proof of concept code and ensure code review processes are occurring on agreed-upon cadence.
• Mentor development team towards higher software development expertise and efficiency.
• Contribute to the definition of software development standards and best practices.
• Contribute to IT strategy and planning.
• Ensure organization's documentation standards are met and maintained.
• Manage communication with product stakeholders and collaborate with infrastructure and other cross-functional IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Master’s preferred.
• Proven experience in leading software development teams.
• Strong technical background with a solid understanding of software development processes and methodologies, including building and deploying applications in Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage, Azure SQL), Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, APIs, microservices, and cloud-based architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of scalability, availability, and performance optimization in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of the grocery industry is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise product requirements.
