Software Engineering Manager

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural oversight for enterprise platforms with a focus on performance, reliability, and operability.
• Guide API and microservices design while evolving event-driven and messaging patterns for scale and resilience.
• Lead modernisation across legacy, cloud, and hybrid environments while enforcing secure design and compliance guardrails.
• Provide direction, oversight, and coaching for engineering teams to grow talent and raise technical standards.
• Own delivery outcomes across multiple squads, including planning, release readiness, and dependency management.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of applied software engineering experience with 2+ years of experience leading technologists.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java-based platforms and languages such as React, Python, or Golang.
• Expertise with Linux/UNIX, including batch processing, job scheduling, and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and operating microservices and event-driven messaging architectures.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to senior stakeholders across product and operations.
