Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, supporting their technical growth, career development, and overall performance.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, from solution design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Guide architectural discussions and technical decision-making to ensure scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing applications.
- Drive engineering best practices including code quality, automated testing, Agile delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, QA, Project Management, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused digital solutions.
- Monitor engineering and operational metrics to improve delivery predictability, software quality, and system reliability.
- Support cloud-based application development and deployment using Microsoft Azure.
- Help evaluate technical tradeoffs, delivery risks, and implementation strategies while balancing business priorities and long-term sustainability.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive engineering culture that encourages continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years leading or managing software engineering teams.
- Experience developing customer-facing web applications and services using Next.js, React, and C#.
- Strong understanding of modern software design principles, including SOLID principles, Domain-Driven Design, and common design patterns.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Proven experience coaching, mentoring, and developing software engineers.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while driving continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
Total Rewards
- The base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $180,000 annually for employees based in Boston, MA.
- Final compensation may vary and will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location.
